Suggested Location of Performance (major portion of the work): Hartford, CT
Purpose/Project Description: Funding will be used to construct a 110,165-square foot aviation Transformation Readiness Center (ATRC), to serve the peace time missions of the Army Aviation Support Facility. The new facility will support 289 personnel, and provide the necessary administrative, training and storage areas required to support their training and operations.

Item Name: Submarine Group Two Headquarters
Request: $12,930,000
Intended Recipient: NAVSUBASE NEW LONDON CT, Crystal Lake Road, Groton, CT, 06340
Suggested Location of Performance (major portion of the work): Groton, CT
Purpose/Project Description: This project will construct a new headquarters facility for the staff of Commander, Submarine Group Two (COMSUBGRU TWO). The new 20,000 sq ft building would house Group 2 and other critical command elements supporting about 73 staff. Adequate facilities are essential for the Commander, Submarine Group Two (COMSUBGRU TWO) staff to support the day to day operations and mission of the Atlantic based attack submarine force and subordinate commands. The current building is nearly 44 years old and inadequate for the needs of COMSUBGRU TWO.

Saving Medicare and Reducing our Debt


On June 28th, Senators Lieberman and Coburn revealed their bipartisan proposal to save Medicare and reduce the debt. The Lieberman/Coburn proposal would save more than $600 billion over 10 years, based on reviews of Congressional Budget Office (CBO) estimates, and up to an additional $100 billion savings from implementing the program integrity provisions.
