WASHINGTON, DC - Senator Joe Lieberman (ID-CT) today praised the release of $1,015,400 to the City of Waterbury to improve the city's energy efficiency, reduce the city's energy use and fossil fuel emissions, and create green jobs. The funds were released by the US Department of Energy as a part of the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant Program.
"Ensuring that Waterbury has the most energy efficient equipment and technologies will not only help improve and protect the environment, but will help reduce the cost of energy and fuel for the city," Lieberman said. "These funds are an important investment in the future of the 'Brass City'."
