11.20.09
WASHINGTON, DC - Senator Joe Lieberman (ID-CT) today praised the release of $536,100 to the City of Milford to improve the city's energy efficiency. The grant can be used for energy audits and building retrofits in the residential and commercial sector, the development and implementation of advanced building codes and inspections, and the creation of financial incentive programs for energy efficiency improvements. The funds were released by the U.S. Department of Energy as a part of the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant Program.
"Improving the energy efficiency of the operations and building in Milford will not only help preserve its natural beauty, but will help reduce energy costs for the city," Lieberman said. "These funds will also help bring new, high tech jobs to the community and its surrounding areas."
