Lieberman Praises President's Call for Job Creation

12.08.09

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Senator Joe Lieberman (ID-CT) issued the following statement in response to the proposal for job creation outlined by President Obama at the Brookings Institution today:

"In these difficult economic times, job creation should be our top priority. I applaud the President's announcement today urging Congress to consider new proposals that will help further drive down our unemployment rate. We received better news last month on the jobs front, but much more can still be done be done to help the small businesses that are the true jobs engine of our economy. I look forward to working on these and other ideas that will help workers in Connecticut and across the nation."
