WASHINGTON, D.C. - Senators Chris Dodd (D-CT) and Joe Lieberman (ID-CT) today announced that Bradley International Airport will receive $8 million from the Department of Transportation to repair one of its runways. This grant was awarded as part of the economic recovery package and will allow the airport to resurface the main runway.
"Bradley International is Connecticut's busiest airport, and the second busiest in New England. It is important that we keep it in the best condition possible," said Dodd. "This recovery funding will not only allow Bradley make the repairs necessary to ensure the safety of passengers and crews flying in and out of Connecticut, but it will also create valuable new jobs for the workers of our state."
"Bradley International Airport is a major engine for growth, and attracting new service with better runways means attracting more economic activity," said Lieberman. "This funding from the Recovery Act will create jobs, ease air traffic congestion, and help ensure travel safety in our state."
