Lieberman Announces $2.8 Million for Bridgeport Transit Improvements

WASHINGTON - Senator Joe Lieberman (ID-CT) today announced the release of $2.8 million to the Bridgeport Transit Authority for the Greater Bridgeport system-wide engine replacement program. The funds were released by the Department of Transportation as a part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
"Investing in Bridgeport's public transit system is vital to ensuring its hardworking citizens have reliable means to commute to and from work," said Lieberman. "These funds will go a long way to improve the quality and safety of the city's transit system, and increase its fleet's reliability."
