Lieberman Applauds $40 Million for High Speed Rail Improvements in Connecticut

WASHINGTON, DC – Senator Joe Lieberman (ID-CT) today praised the release of $40,000,000 to Connecticut for the improvement and modification of the high speed rail system running along the New Haven-Hartford-Springfield Corridor. The funds were announced as a part of President Obama’s pledge to improve the reliability and efficiency of high speed rail systems.
“Improving Connecticut’s public transportation infrastructure is vital to keeping and creating jobs in Connecticut,” Lieberman said. “These improvements along the New Haven - Hartford - Springfield line will increase reliability and reduce trip times on Connecticut’s rail system.”
