Small Business

Q: Where can a small business owner go for information about available programs and resources?
The Small Business Administration and the Connecticut Department of Economic Development each offer programs and resources for small businesses. Additionally, your local town may offer programs to assist in starting, maintaining, or growing your business. You should contact your local town hall for more information on these opportunities.
Q: Can my small business seek contracting opportunities with the Federal government?
Yes! Please visit the Small Business Administration for more information about Federal contracting opportunities available to small businesses.
Q: Where can I get advice from seasoned professionals regarding my business?
In addition to the U.S. Small Business Administration and Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development websites listed above, you may wish to contact the Service Corps of Retired Executives, also known as SCORE, which is a nonprofit association dedicated to entrepreneur education and success of small businesses across the country, and the Connecticut Small Business Development Center.
You may also wish to contact the Connecticut Small Business Development Corporation (SBDC), which is a state/federal partnership that provides extensive small business counseling to Connecticut residents.
